There are two types of people who arrive at the Coliseum: those who have come to be entertained, shouting Huzzah to those who gain victory and Hiss to those who they disdain; and those who have come to fight the lions, knowing they could die in the process, but also knowing that they could earn Freedom.  The spectators sit safely in their chairs, but they never know the true power of victory.  The gladiators have little time for those who sit in judgement, but prepare themselves for battle.  Some will die.  Some will walk away free men.  Some will come back to fight yet again.

I believe that we choose daily whether to be a spectator or a gladiator, to enter the arena or sit in the stands.  This site is for those who are tired of the false glory of spectating, but instead desire to test themselves in battle, or to vanquish a foe that has hounded them for too long, or those who simply want to discover that there is more to life than watching.  It is a site for those who are willing to risk everything they keep deep down inside if it means that they could discover true Freedom.

As this site develops, you will find that we will discuss the battle for Freedom in many arenas, such as in our finances, our lifestyles, our internal judgements, and our fears.  And most of all, it is about discovering spiritual freedom by embarking on a journey that could lead to a deeper understanding of who we are, what we were meant to be, and the strength that we each have.  To be perfectly clear, I am a follower of Jesus Christ, but I profess no perfection.  This site is for discovering that no one earns (or un-earns) God’s love, but it is there for the taking.  This is a lot about my own continuing journey to the Coliseum and my desire to embrace God’s love for me, while also hearing from others who may have been on this journey well ahead of me, as well as those just beginning to seek Truth.

And woven through it all will be Spartacus, the hero of ancient Rome who believed that men and women should be free.  I hope that you too will claim the battle cry, “I am Spartacus!”
